Frequently Asked Questions

Looking for answers? We hope this page helps. If you don’t see your question listed here, please feel free to contact the Pleasant Lake Civic Association.

Is there a boat launch at Pleasant Lake?

Pleasant Lake is a public lake; however, the boat launch located in the channel is private and reserved for Pleasant Bay Estates Association (PBEA) property owners only.

A nearby county park is open to the public, but it does not include a boat launch.

Why are Fourth of July fireworks sometimes delayed or postponed?

The Fourth of July Fireworks show is managed by licensed, professional pyrotechnics experts. While PLCA volunteers help facilitate the event, safety is always the top priority.

Weather conditions, wind, and lake safety factors may require delays or postponement to a rain date. These decisions are made by the professionals and may also consider additional costs associated with securing and reloading fireworks barges. We appreciate the community’s understanding when conditions are beyond our control.

Is the island open to the public?

No. The island is private property, similar to a privately owned yard. While the owners allow enjoyment of the surrounding waters, the public does not have permission to access or trespass on the island.

Please be respectful by staying off the island, picking up after yourself, and honoring posted signage. Security cameras are in place to protect the property. Thank you for helping keep Pleasant Lake welcoming and respectful for everyone.
